Yongsan and Gyeongbokgung Palace met again.
On the 11th, the semifinals of the 2023 Korea Used Basketball Weekend League King’s Match were held at Youth Gymnasium A Court in Yanggu-gun, Gangwon-do.
First, in the match between Myeongji High School and Yongsan High School, Yongsan High School won 103-68, and Yongsan High School showed off its firepower by scoring more than 100 points in all finals.
Lee Yoo-jin tied four three-point shots and recorded 26 points and 10 rebounds, recording a double-double. Kim Seung-woo also added 25 points, while Baek Ji-min (12 points), Lee Sung-joon (11 points), and Jang Hyuk-joon (10 points) also scored double-digit points. Yongsan High School, which has organizational power, also recorded 31 team assists (14 at Myeongji University), and nine players scored. In Myeongji High School, Kim Jung-hyun added 28 points and 10 rebounds, but Yongsan High School’s firepower alone was not easy.
In the next match between Gyeongbokgung Palace and Jemulpo High School, Gyeongbokgung Palace won 86-77 and competed with Yongsan High School for the championship. Gyeongbokgung Palace won the King of Kings match in 2022 and is trying to win two consecutive tournaments.
For Kyungbok High School, Yoon Hyun-sung scored 18 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and one block, while Kim Sung-woon also scored 18 points, Kang Tae-hyun and Lee Byung-yeop (12 points) and Lee Keun-jun (11 points) contributed to the score. In Jemulpo High School, Koo Min-kyo played a one-man show with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, but failed to overcome the inferiority in the first half (31-46).
Yongsan High School and Gyeongbokgung Palace, which met in the final of the Gimcheon Games in May while serving as president of the federation, won 80-57 at the time. With this victory, Yongsan High School won its first championship this year. The two teams met again, and attention is being paid to whether Yongsan High School will continue its good memories of the last tournament or Gyeongbokgung Palace will avenge its defeat on this day.
